Neuropsychology is an applied science that examines normal and abnormal brain functions due to injury or disease and its impact on development, achievement, learning, cognition, behavior, sensorimotor, emotional, and general adaptive functioning of an individual.
What is a Neuropsychological Evaluation
Neuropsychological evaluations and consultations assess brain function and dysfunction and include the use of objective neuropsychological tests, systematic behavioral observations, and interpretation of the findings based on knowledge of the neuropsychological manifestations of brain-related conditions. Where appropriate, these evaluations consider neuroimaging and other neurodiagnostic studies that help inform on an individual’s brain function.
